Part 1 and Part 2
The first 2 stages to become a driving instructor are your part 1 and part 2 tests. You will need an enhanced DBS specific for and a PRN (Personal Reference Number). Jon will sponsor you and provide the necessary codes to obtain these.
Part 1 theory and hazard perception
The theory test is an extended version of the one taken by learners. There are additional questions based around being a Driving Instructor. Jon will provide help and support for part 1.
Part 2 driving ability
The driving test is an extended driving test covering all the aspects of the normal learner test, but to a higher standard. Jon will provide 12 hours "in car" training to refresh and develop your competency for part 2. Each session will normally be 3 hours.
Preparing for Pink
To apply for a PDI licence (Potential Driving Instructor, you need 40 hours of training. Jon will provide this fully "in car". The 40 hours will incorporate the 12 part 2 hours. Thus 28 hours teaching ability. Each session will normally be 4 hours. Jon will prepare and submit all necessary documentation to DVSA
Costs
Jon will provide the 40 hours training at a cost of £1600. This can be paid on a pay as you go basis. Payment to be made for each session at least 48 hours in advance. Test and licence fees will be your responsibility, but Jon will help you find suitable test dates.
